Hi,
is there a TUI deltachat program? If possible, i would like to be able to use deltachat in the terminal, not as a bot or sdk but a real text user interface in the terminal, like irssi.

Thank you!

There is GitHub - ArcaneChat/arcanechat-tui: [WIP] a lightweight ArcaneChat client for the command line
But functional is very limited, see the README.
And author is too busy with other thngs.

That’s a pity. :frowning:

for what you can expect of terminal chat app, it is good enough tho, you can send and receive messages pretty much like any irc client for the command line

But does it have the same security level in terms of transmitted messages as the endorsed deltachat programs?

AFAIK it uses same Rust core as other ‘official’ DC apps. Only Python TUI code is unique.

yes, it is literally the exact same delta chat, the different clients are just cosmetic UI around the same security-audited Delta Chat core that contains all the actual encryption and capabilities
