The password is set when the account is created. It currently cannot be changed. You can [choose the password at creation](https://support.delta.chat/t/how-to-create-an-account-without-an-account-creation-qr-code/3911).

It is an e-mail address. You can use it with any mail client that supports IMAP and Autocrypt. But it will only send and recieve encrypted messages.
