# Forward to contacts as well

## Expected behavior

Users can forward messages to contacts, not just chats.

## Actual behavior

Users can only forward messages to chats.

## Explanation

Users often delete chats when they are no longer relevant. If they want to forward a message to contacts with whom they don’t currently have a chat, users must first create new ones. That’s rather inconvenient. I think it would be best if chats and contacts were displayed both in the selection list, perhaps separated by bars, like in the search results.

In #desktop this goes for most usages of `SelectChat`. IMU the biggest blocker currently is that `SelectContactDialog` just doesn’t include group chats.
