Is there any working two-way-bridge between Deltachat and some other instant messaging network that is already running and in use? I found a lot of discussion about bridges and bots, but no working code (I looked at [GitHub - kamax-matrix/matrix-appservice-email: Matrix \<--\> E-mail Bridge](https://github.com/kamax-io/matrix-appservice-email) - found via [Bridges | Matrix.org](https://matrix.org/bridges/#email) - but that appears to be broken and out of active development for 3 years). Matterbridge closed the feature request as out-of-scope ( [[Feature] Email support · Issue #513 · 42wim/matterbridge · GitHub](https://github.com/42wim/matterbridge/issues/513) ).

An IRC bot is used on the `#deltachat` channel in Libera Chat network: [GitHub - simplebot-org/simplebot\_irc: [WIP] IRC ↔️ DeltaChat bridge](https://github.com/simplebot-org/simplebot_irc)
There is also a new Telegram bridge released just a few days ago: [GitHub - simplebot-org/simplebot\_tgchan: 🌉 Telegram channels subscriptions in Delta Chat](https://github.com/simplebot-org/simplebot_tgchan)

Both are developed by @adbenitez

There is a running instance that can be used in Telegram the bot is `@deltachat_bridge_bot` and [tgbridge@testrun.org](mailto:tgbridge@testrun.org) on the Delta Chat side, the help on how to use it to bridge a Telegram an Delta Chat group is on the bot description in Telegram and in the bot help on Delta Chat with the /help command

Just sent a message to the bot in DeltaChat with ‘/help’ as contents. Got back an unencrypted message like so

Have you added the bot: @deltachat\_bridge\_bot to the Telegram group or channel? Have you added the bot [tgbridge@testrun.org](mailto:tgbridge@testrun.org) to the DC group?
Did you send /id in the Telegram Group or Channel?
You sent in the DC group /bridge number(which returned the /id command)?

Yes, to all your questions, I think. I can receive messages in Tg but not in DC.

hi @youmakeit what bot are you trying to use? I just tested it and it replies fine:

I think I used deltachat\_bridge\_bot, but for sure it didn’t have the deltachat icon, but a robot icon or something similar, I don’t remember it clearly.

If that should be the correct one, I will try again.
, thanks!

It was a matter that the bot didn’t show up if it wasn’t in the contacts list beforehand.

After contacting it, a group could be created.

Thanks for your help.

The Telegram Bridge is offline since 02/11 🥺
Is there a chance it will keep operating?

for the record, for now I discontinued this bot, it was deprecated using old legacy deltachat lib, I don’t have the capacity to port it right now, maybe I do some crowd-funding/bounty collection if people really want me to do it, otherwise, you are better of with the matterbridge deltachat plugin, you have to self-host it tho

If anyone interested, I have published my Delta Chat ↔ Telegram Bridge Bot code here: [GitHub - mrgluek/deltachat\_telegram\_bridge: A bot that acts as a bridge between Delta Chat groups and Telegram groups. It relays messages sent in mapped Telegram groups to corresponding Delta Chat groups, and vice-versa. · GitHub](https://github.com/mrgluek/deltachat_telegram_bridge)

Still testing it, but it works fine for a few of my groups. Probably could add a few more if someone wants to help me testing it.
